NAKED KUDU

Kudu is a wild antelope from Southern Africa. It spends its life pushing through thorn and acacia scrub, and the hide records all of it: thorn scratches, insect bites, old fight marks, healed grazes. Most leather is sanded and corrected to hide marks like these. Naked kudu isn't. What you see is the animal's own surface, dyed through and finished with a light wax.

People have asked us for Naked Kudu for a long time. We never made it because we couldn't get the hides. Supply depends entirely on the annual cull, and this year we finally got an allocation from C.F. Stead. It was enough for 25 pairs. We don't know when we'll get more.

We're a fourth-generation family shoemaker, making shoes by hand in England since 1936. Every pair is made by our makers at our Sheffield workshop and can be resoled and repaired for years to come.
