Important Update for Our USA Customers: Changes to Import Tax Rules

For years, USA customers have benefitted from a generous $800 de minimis threshold, meaning any orders under $800 could enter the States tax-free.

But from 29th August 2025, this allowance is being removed. Going forward, all international purchases, no matter the value, will be subject to import duties and taxes when they arrive in the USA.

What this means for you

After the 29th, duties and taxes will apply to every order under $800. Unfortunately, this will make it more expensive for our US customers to own handcrafted Sheffield footwear. To make this transition as smooth as possible, we’ve introduced a checkout calculator that shows all costs upfront. That way, everything is paid for in advance and there are no surprise bills when your shoes arrive. And as always, every pair comes with what makes GORAL special: premium materials, resoleable construction, and our lifetime repair guarantee.
