ROMA

Introducing the ROMA with a crepe sole. Its silhouette draws inspiration from the original German Army Trainer, most notably the iconic German Army Trainer, while refining the shape, fit, and finish for modern comfort. The result is a clean, familiar profile that feels broken-in from the very first wear.

The suede is exceptionally soft, cut with a dense, medium temper, moderate oil content, and a short, tight nap. It’s supple without feeling loose, structured without stiffness, a balance that gives the shoe depth, character, and durability.

Crepe soles take their name from French crêpes. When natural rubber is rolled into sheets and left to air dry, it develops the same soft, rippled texture and subtly uneven character. The material itself comes from latex tapped from rubber trees, they are gently tapped, allowing the latex to be collected sustainably. It’s then rolled into thin sheets and left to dry naturally. As it cures, those distinctive waves form, that’s crepe. Unlike heavily processed rubber, crepe is minimally treated. It retains its natural softness and elasticity, which means cushioning, flexibility, and comfort straight out of the box.

Each pair is handmade in Sheffield, England using Blake stitch construction, a method that allows for easy resoling. The ROMA is backed by a lifetime guarantee, when the time comes, send them back for a resole and refurbishment, and they’ll be ready for the road again.
