Fit Guide: Regular (D) vs Wide (EE)
Most of our customers will feel right at home in our Regular Fit (D) - it’s our standard width and suits the majority of foot shapes. But if you have a broader foot or often find standard shoes a little snug, our Wide Fit (EE) offers extra room across the forefoot for all-day comfort.
Our fit options:
The Wide Fit (EE) styles are approximately 4mm wider in girth measurement than our Regular Fit (D) styles. This added space offers a more generous fit for broader feet without compromising structure or style.
- A D fit is considered average width for men.
- A Wide (EE) fit gives you more width across the forefront of the foot.
Whether you go with D or EE, both fits are built on the same last and crafted with the same precision. The width is the only difference - the shape, silhouette, and quality remain identical.
Not sure what to pick?
If you usually wear standard-width shoes and they fit just fine, choose Regular (D). If your shoes often feel tight across the front or sides, or you have a naturally wider foot, Wide (EE) might be the better call.
And remember - this isn’t something you need to overthink. If you’re not 100% sure, don’t stress. We offer a flexible returns policy so you can find your perfect fit with peace of mind.

01 The details
The Mellor II in Aspen Horsehide is a refined everyday sneaker, elevated through material choice and traditional shoemaking. Handmade in Sheffield, England, this edition pairs the clean, low-profile Mellor silhouette with Horween’s Aspen leather, a full-grain, vegetable-tanned European horsehide developed for longevity, depth, and patina.
Aspen is lightly tumbled to bring out natural pebble grain and finished with a high-luster aniline topcoat, giving the leather a subtle, mirror-like sheen that softens with wear. Supple from the first outing yet inherently durable, the leather moulds to the foot over time while maintaining its structure, telling its story through creases, burnishing, and colour shift unique to each wearer.
Built using a resoleable Blake stitch construction, the Mellor II is stitched fully underfoot, forming a complete shoe structure before the outsole is attached and sidewall stitched for strength and protection. This construction allows the shoe to be rebuilt through our Rebuild+ service, extending its lifespan far beyond that of a conventional trainer.
Finished with a smooth horse leather lining and a supportive leather insole, the Mellor II balances comfort with resilience. Designed for daily wear, repaired properly, and made to improve with age.
02 The fit
The shoes fit true to size.
As a lace up style, you can create a personalised fit.
As all shoes use premium leather they will require a break-in period, however, once broken in they will become extremely comfortable.

WE DONT JUST RESOLE, WE REBUILD+
When you buy GORALs, you buy them for life. Every pair is built with premium leather components that can be restored, renewed, and rebuilt, so they only get better with age. When the sole wears down, Rebuild+ brings them back better than new, with all the patina and character intact.

5 REASONS TO REBUILD+ YOUR GORAL SHOES
Purpose
A pair of GORAL shoes isn't a purchase you make twice. Resoling extends the life of something you've already invested in, protecting that investment rather than starting again from scratch.
Comfort
A shoe that's been worn in is a shoe that fits, as the leather has moulded to your foot. Resoling means keeping all of that comfort rather than breaking in something new.
Patina
Every scuff, crease and mark on your leather is a record of where you've been. Resoling preserves all of that character while giving the shoe a fresh foundation.
Purpose
Every GORAL is designed from the ground up to be resoled. The Blake stitch construction, the leather components, the felt filler, every decision made during construction had the resole in mind.
Quality
The leather, the construction, the components, none of that wears out the way a sole does. Resoling replaces the one part that's designed to take the impact, while everything that makes the shoe worth keeping stays exactly as it is.
