BEHIND THE SCENES | MAKING THE SHEARLING LEATHER JACKET

We’re excited to finally share the story behind the making of the leather jacket! This journey began over two years ago when Weston from Rose Anvil sent us a leather jacket for a "Will It Shoe" episode, which not only sparked the idea for the jacket but also inspired the creation of the MUGGS.

We exclusively use the finest materials in the world to craft our sneakers, shoes, boots, and jackets. The leather for our jackets, in particular, is sourced from one of the most prestigious tanneries in Poland, renowned for its expertise in shearling.

Each piece of shearling leather is meticulously inspected for colour, quality, and to ensure a consistent thickness of 2.2mm. The leather trims are sourced from Horween, made with their renowned Chromexcel leather to perfectly match our footwear. For durability and strength, the zip and buckle hardware is made of steel. All components are then brought together with heavy-duty cotton thread for added strength and longevity.

Each jacket is crafted entirely by hand, with no shortcuts taken—an approach to craftsmanship that’s becoming increasingly rare today. Our commitment to traditional techniques, coupled with a refusal to cut corners or settle for anything less than the highest standards, requires a team of highly skilled artisans. The outcome is a jacket built to last a lifetime.

The Process

Every jacket is made to order, so it is only when we receive your order that the process begins. 

Cutting

We select and quality-inspect each hide before skilfully hand-cutting every panel individually for your jacket – matching colour, grain, weight, and characteristics with expert precision before being passed on to your jacket’s machinist.

Machining 

Over the course of many hours, one of our expert craftsmen will meticulously stitch your jacket from start to finish, paying close attention to every detail. Using heavy-duty cotton thread with a polyester core for added strength, they ensure the perfect stitch size to complement the leather's unique characteristics.

Quality Check

Once your jacket is complete, it undergoes a final quality check. The most experienced member of our team carefully inspects every detail to ensure the craftsmanship meets our high standards of quality.

Jacket For Life

All that's left to do now is sit tight and wait for your package to arrive! While it looks incredible brand new, this is just the beginning of a journey with your GORAL. As the leather breaks in and develops its unique patina, it will only get better with each wear.
