The Bradwell B5 WWI Replica Boot

Some designs never fade, they evolve and the B5 WWI Replica Boot, created in collaboration with William Lennon, is one such design. More than a boot, it’s a continuation of British heritage.

William Lennon, established in 1899, was one of the original contractors producing boots for British troops during the Great War. Over a century later, we’ve worked together to bring that same pattern back to life using the original cutting knives and wooden 2181 square-toe last found in the William Lennon factory archives. The result is not a reinterpretation, but a faithful continuation of a piece of history.

The B5 is a no-frills, tough-as-nails boot built for hard wear. The uppers are crafted from Waxy Commander leather by Charles F. Stead, a tannery that has been producing some of the world’s finest leathers in Leeds since the 1890s. It’s rugged, richly textured, and develops a deep patina with every wear.

The heritage brass-screw construction that William Lennon is famed for remains unchanged, it’s solid, dependable, and built to endure. A double-layer leather midsole provides stability and structure, while Dainite rubber forepart and heel outsoles offer grip and durability across all terrains. Unlike the original Great War boots, which were fitted with iron hobnails for battlefield traction, this modern version is made for today’s streets. It preserves every ounce of heritage while offering comfort and practicality for everyday life.

This release is limited to 50 pairs, and each pair represents the endurance of British craftsmanship, the persistence of traditional methods, and the value of making things that last. Built by hand, made to order and crafted to endure. Please allow at least 12-16 weeks for delivery - good things, after all, take time.
