Behind the Scenes 26 - A new take on our minimal classic

BEHIND THE SCENES 26

-

A few months back we started talking about ideas for a summer product launch, a few different ideas were floating around but one that kept coming back up was launching a super stripped back minimal sneaker, a lace-to-toe or wholecut, with our signature construction.

After much deliberation we ended up going with the lace-to-toe, basing the design on The Mellor but stripping it down to the basics, removing the tongue square, heel branding and eyelets and choosing to use a french binding on the edges of the upper. The resulting sneaker is an iteration of one of our most popular silhouettes but with a sleeker, pared back feel.

The next step was to pick leathers for this new style, we wanted something classic, hardwearing and full of character, Horween Chromexcel ticked all of those boxes, a 2.2mm thick pull up leather available in a range of neutral colours. For the white option we wanted it to be clean and bright so opted for a chrome tanned full grain calf leather.

Today sees the launch of this new minimal classic, complete with our unique blake stitch construction, leather lasting board and heel counter and a tan calf leather lining. The result is a no-nonsense highly durable minimal sneaker with high quality materials inside and out.
