The Bloodline: Nomad Maison

Some collaborations happen naturally, not because of strategy, but because of shared values, shared craft, and shared care for the people behind every product. That’s exactly the case with Nomad Maison, the Sheffield-based rug and homeware shop led by founders whose roots span Turkey and Africa, and whose hearts are set on preserving traditional craftsmanship.

Nomad Maison is more than a store, it’s a bridge between cultures, makers, and communities. Every rug, ceramic piece, and textile is sourced directly from artisans, with a commitment to responsible trade and genuine relationships. Their profits are reinvested back into the villages where the work originates, helping preserve traditional looms, weaving techniques, and ceramic practices that might otherwise disappear.

Beyond the products themselves, Nomad Maison has become a space for connection. They open their doors to young creatives, charities, and organisations that align with their values, offering the space for free to help support those trying to build something meaningful.

Their mission is to grow something that benefits families globally. The story of Nomad Maison began with travel and with heritage; Yasemin’s Turkish background and Jake’s African roots made the craft traditions of those cultures feel deeply familiar. They found themselves drawn to the beautifully made items they encountered abroad and felt compelled to bring these pieces, and the stories behind them, to the UK.

Housed in an old warehouse, the space is now filled with rust-coloured arches, walls lined with rugs and ceramics, and a feeling that can only be described as “a rustic Sheffield souk.” On a warm day, you could be anywhere, Morocco, Turkey, or North Africa (yet on a cold day, as they put it, “it feels like Morocco in the Arctic”).

Nomad Maison first came across GORAL through our white label work, but it was the family story, UK manufacturing, and commitment to craftsmanship that truly stood out. The silhouettes, the quality, and the heritage struck a chord immediately.

On set for the Blood Core campaign, a few styles made a real impression with Jake, the BASLOW Chelsea Boot was a standout, and the Mellor II made a strong impression too. But the pair that stole the moment was the SAMARA with red stitching which he said to be “super comfy and clean.”

And of course, the aviator jacket made its own statement. “The all-black aviator jacket and boots look made me feel like a fighter pilot on a night out, and that’s a dream every young man has had.”

The shoot brought together people genuinely connected to the brand and it created an atmosphere of shared appreciation and passion, and Nomad Maison described the day as “Fantastic. I met some great human beings and had a lovely time.”

If given the chance to design a GORAL sneaker, Jake imagines a leather smart/casual trainer with a chunkier profile, something versatile, elevated, and refined. And in true Nomad Maison spirit, it would incorporate elements of antique rugs within the design, blending heritage textiles with modern craftsmanship.
